AFCON 2019 Semifinal: Mahrez’s last minute goal sends Algeria to the Finals

Algerian is through to the finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a 2-1 win against Nigeria.

Algeria took the lead at the 40min after a own goal from Troost-Ekong. Mahrez had crossed the ball which flicks off Collins and hits Troost-Ekong making it into the net.

The Desert foxes dominated the first half loosing couple of opportunities at the Cairo International Stadium.

The Super Eagles fought back and levelled up after a penalty shoot out in the 72min by Ighalo who sent the goalkeeper the wrong way before sidefooting into the right corner of the net.

On the 19th July, Algeria will meet Senegal who won Tunisia earlier at the Cairo International Stadium.

Nigeria and Tunisia will fight for the third place at the Al-Salam Stadium.
